the driver works fine, but all audio and internal mic becomes too low/soft after installation
i am testing another driver and will post the results soon

still not working properly on 778TU, the microphone and audio becomes too soft for you to hear anything.
guess have to live with it at this moment.

for those who have install the mic drivers, please feedback your results and list your notebook model.

joyceooi's driver above work with Presario A948CA I just purchased.

- before wiping Vista, wrote down - DeviceManager - Audio - Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221, by Conexant, 9/10/2007, v4.31.2.0
- using WinXP Pro SP3 (slipstreamed)
- didn't install Microsoft UAA driver (SP3 got it built-in)
- install a conexant driver found on driversguide.com, gave sound ok, but mic doesn't work
- search around and found this forum, dig deeper and found this post, downloaded driver and mic work.

Yes, the mic audio is a bit soft - and since can't really adjust the mic gain, thus not much can do.

i have the c773tu
tried to install the driver, there was pop-up sayin comexant blah blah-upgrade. i clicked ok. then after a bit it said failiure....
so...what do i do??
